Moving Target Defense combined with innovative EDR enables customers to further consolidate security into the Microsoft ecosystem and protect enterprise systems from more threats
BE’ER SHEVA, ISRAEL and BOSTON, MA – April 23, 2019 – Morphisec, the leader in Moving Target Defense, announced today that it has integrated its Unified Threat Prevention Platform with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint. This integration enables security teams to prevent a larger landscape of unknown threats, early in the attack lifecycle and use the captured attack data for monitoring and response within the Defender for Endpoint console as enterprises consolidate security within the Microsoft ecosystem.
The EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response) market has grown to over $1B as of year-end 2018, according to Gartner, with approximately 20% market penetration in the enterprise. Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft's EDR product, continues to gain more market share and momentum as organizations look to migrate from Windows 7 (or 8.1) to Windows 10. A major benefit of Defender for Endpoint is that it’s already embedded into the Windows 10 operating system, improving the patching cycle, and making updates easier for IT and security teams as organizations move to consolidate on Microsoft, and has recently expanded beyond Windows to Mac which offers new and exciting opportunities.
One of the biggest challenges for SOC operators and security teams is how to prevent more threats earlier and scaling threat response against the growing barrage of unknown attacks and exploits. Morphisec's advanced prevention capability is purpose-built to terminate advanced threats, capturing unique threat information as it does so.
“Our collaboration with Microsoft validates Morphisec’s highly innovative approach to protecting against advanced attacks and exploits,” said Ronen Yehoshua, CEO of Morphisec. “Combined with the comprehensive detection, investigation and response capabilities available in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint platform, the integration takes endpoint protection, visibility and optics to a new level, while driving down risk and operating costs for enterprise security teams.”
Morphisec seamlessly integrates into the Microsoft ecosystem for enterprises, adding a powerful dynamic to the delivery of early, proactive attack prevention. Operators benefit from the complementary reduction of potential alerts - which gives teams better ROI for Defender for Endpoint's continuous visibility and response functionality. Morphisec forensics data is used by Defender to prioritize alerts and determine machine risk score. The full attack timeline, including internal memory information about the attack, can be visualized in Microsoft Defender Security Center. Morphisec also helps support Microsoft customers in bridging the gap between Windows 7 end of life and upgrading to Windows 10. – acting as a virtual patch for their OS environment.
“Morphisec enables Microsoft Defender for Endpoint customers to identify threats early on and be notified of potential risks before they become a problem. We are pleased to see Morphisec bring their expertise to the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association,” said Ryan McGee, Director Security Marketing at Microsoft.
Morphisec consistently receives industry accolades for its innovative cyber defense solution and was awarded a 100% efficacy rating in independent testing by SE Labs. Recent validation testing by ESG Labs, concluded “ESG’s testing showed Morphisec to be both efficient and effective when tested against a range of advanced threats in multi-stage targeted attack campaigns…[including] ransomware, trojans, RATS, malware, downloaders, and others targeted at endpoints, web, and email.”
